Argentine national team manager Mauricio Pochettino for the United States brings in $6 million a year, plus bonuses defined by how far they get in this summer’s World Cup on home soil.
Two factors, the fact that the United States has made it through the group stage and interest from the Premier League, means that the American Football Association will secure a further contract already now and not as originally planned after the World Cup.

The Guardian reports that Mauricio Pochettino has been offered a contract extension until after the 2030 World Cup. – He will also get $2 million more in his paycheck.
Mauricio Pochettino, who has been manager of Southampton, Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, has been manager of the United States since 2024, but his contract expires after the ongoing World Cup. The American Football Association hopes to do something about that.
The question is whether Pochettino finds the offer interesting. He has previously said that he will only make a decision about his future after the World Cup.
The United States won their World Cup group and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 16 on Thursday. Now it remains to be seen whether Pochettino’s future in the United States will be decided before or after the championship.
