After the near-defeat at Craven Cottage to Berge and Bobb, which was saved by an equaliser in the 89th minute, there was one player in particular that Michael Carrick had to defend. Premier League legend Michael Owen has less faith in a “sudden” re-breakthrough for Marcus Rashford.

In an interview with Premier League Productions, Owen opined that Rashford has given less than United’s other attacking options so far.
“On the left, Marcus Rashford has probably been the ‘quietest’ of these attackers. He was quiet again today with his body language, just his gloomy face. He just doesn’t seem to love his football, which has been a permanent frustration with Marcus,” Owen begins.
-It looks like the whole weight of the world is resting on his shoulders, and you just think how? Why? He’s living everybody’s dream. There’s probably something behind the scenes that makes him look like he doesn’t like his football at the moment.

Owen then suggested that Benjamin Sesko’s return could leave Rashford vulnerable.
“There’s a bit of pressure for Benjamin Sesko to come back and start, unless the injury allows it of course. But if that happens, Cunha is going to go on the left and Rashford would be the weak link in that attack as things stand now,” Owen concluded.
