Mikel Arteta is facing a significant pay rise after agreeing better terms after Arsenal’s Premier League title.
It is said that Arsenal are rewarding Mikel Arteta with a “mega-money” contract that will make him one of the world’s highest-paid managers.
On Tuesday (22 September), it became known that the Premier League’s current longest-serving manager had agreed to an improved contract at the Emirates Stadium – ending months of negotiations over a new deal.
Discussing his future last week, Arteta dismissed any chance of him leaving north London when his current contract expires at the end of the season, stating: “I’m extremely happy and I feel very grateful to work with the people I work with.”

After almost seven years at the club, it is not surprising that winning a fifth trophy as head coach of the Emirates has earned him a “mega-money” deal, according to the Daily Mail.
Arteta currently earns a whopping £10 million a year plus a further £5 million in bonuses at Arsenal, but it is understood that his salary will now increase “significantly”, along with a generous bonus package.
It’s a reward for how he has transformed the club since taking over from Unai Emery in December 2019. The Gunners were down in 11th place before his first game as manager, and he has since established them as one of the best teams in Europe.
In addition to winning the Premier League title, Arsenal came painfully close to lifting the Champions League, but lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain.
It is clear that Stan Kroenke and the management are confident that they can take a step forward this season by ending their hoodoo – while also fighting for two consecutive Premier League titles.
Arteta’s men have started the league season with four wins out of five, and their unbeaten streak came to an end with a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday at the AMEX Stadium.

Although an official announcement about Arteta’s contract is still pending, the terms of his new deal could make him the world’s highest-paid manager.
That accolade currently belongs to Al-Hilal’s Simone Inzaghi, who earns a whopping £22.3 million a year in the Saudi Pro League.
Diego Simeone is second on the list with an annual salary of £20.1 million at Atlético Madrid. With his current salary of 15 million a year, Arteta is in third place – just ahead of PSG’s Luis Enrique (12 million) and Real Madrid’s José Mourinho (12 million).
But as his current sensational contract is set to “increase significantly” – according to the Daily Mail – including a “generous bonus package”, whatever the 44-year-old earns next could see him overtake Inzaghi at the top of the pile.
Arteta has won 224 of his 360 games as manager of Arsenal, at a rate of 2.03 points per game. A new high-priced contract reflects how incredible a job he has done at the Emirates.
