Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is on his way out of Anfield – and now everything points to Saudi Arabia, where he can cash in up to €80 million on a three-year contract.
Egypt’s undisputed king is leaving Liverpool one year before his contract actually expires. A disappointing 2025/26 season by its own high standards, combined with a well-documented break with Arne Slot, accelerated the departure.

Although Slot is gone and Andoni Iraola is now sitting in the Liverpool grave, there was short-lived speculation about a possible turnaround from Salah. They were quickly disproved.
Egypt, who top Group G in the World Cup after a win and a draw, face Iran, who have to fly back and forth to Mexico on the same day they play.
Now, Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade – with solid contacts in both European and Saudi Arabian transfer circles – reports that Al Hilal has made Salah his big dream signing.
The Saudis are looking for a new striker when the World Cup is over, and Salah is their main priority. His status as a free agent makes the transition far easier – without club-to-club negotiations.
Al Hilal ready with giant offer
The Saudi Arabian giants have set aside €60 million for Salah’s salary over three years – €20 million per season. In addition, there is the possibility of a fourth year, which will lift the total package to 80 million euros.
Andrade adds that Salah is Al Hilal’s “maximum dream” for the attack. Raphinha and other names are in the background, but are less relevant at this stage.
It is a complete turnaround from Al Hilal’s plans two summers ago, when Raphinha was their first choice with an even bigger offer than what they are now preparing for Salah.
The money comes from the prince himself, who bought Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia’s state fund earlier this year.
“Something tells me that it will be Mohamed Salah,” says Andrade about the club’s upcoming signing.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continue their search for their first choice to replace Salah – but they have been warned about the price they will have to pay for Yan Diomande.
