The Arsenal youngster has been linked with a massive Premier League transfer this summer. Now we know where he will play next – and the answer is that he will stay.
Myles Lewis-Skelly has been given a clear message about his future after both Chelsea and Manchester United turned him down.

When he broke through at the start of the 2024/25 season, many believed that Lewis-Skelly could be Arsenal’s future in defence. The academy boy made his debut for England under Thomas Tuchel and made 75 appearances in all competitions, but struggled to get enough minutes last season.
Thus, rumors about the 19-year-old’s future began to swirl. Manchester United were linked with a transfer after they failed in their pursuit of Lewis Hall – whom Newcastle called “unapproachable”. United are said to have been “long-time admirers” of the Arsenal youngster, and Chelsea have also reportedly been offered to sign him.
According to reports, Arsenal have put a price tag of £45 million on Lewis-Skelly – and the club would make a profit on any sale.
United and Chelsea declined
Now, however, it turns out that neither Chelsea nor Manchester United want to sign the defender this summer.
Chelsea are happy with new signing Pep Chavarria, who joined from Rayo Vallecano for up to £19 million. According to The Telegraph, Xabi Alonso’s team never even considered making a bid for Lewis-Skelly – even though an intermediary got in touch and offered him.
Similarly, Manchester United turned down the offer to sign the former England international this summer – despite previous interest.
Uncertain role at Arsenal
The decision makes Lewis-Skelly’s future at Arsenal uncertain. Mikel Arteta clearly favours both Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié at left-back. With Arsenal’s recent signing of Bruno Guimarães, Lewis-Skelly’s ability to play in midfield is also unlikely to secure him more minutes in the 2026/27 season.
He is also said to have been offered to other Premier League clubs – but Liverpool are not among them.
Despite increased competition, Lewis-Skelly is determined to fight for his place at Arsenal, according to the report.
Walker could return to the Premier League
While Lewis-Skelly stays, another English defender could be on the way. Premier League veteran Kyle Walker is reportedly a target for Everton this summer, according to The Sun.
The 36-year-old can thus return to the top division after being relegated with Burnley last season. Walker joined Burnley from Manchester City last summer for £5 million, but has attracted interest from David Moyes – who has previously tried to sign the right-back twice.
Everton have also been linked with Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz, as the club aim for a new defender before the window closes.
