While we wait for Paul Pogba’s next move in his football career, marked by the greatest triumphs and deepest valleys, the Frenchman is still a topic on the ball island. When Rio Ferdinand invites Kingsley Coman for football talk, the United legend will of course hear about compatriot Pogba. Coman firmly believes the story written about Pogba in a United shirt is not true.

Kingsley Coman has been a teammate of Pogba at Les Bleus since 2015. This was just before Pogba’s return to Manchester United after four years at Juventus, a return to Old Trafford that made Pogba the most expensive investment in club history. Coman remembers well how he himself experienced Pogba’s United stay. The Bayern Munich player firmly believes Pogba did well, but was felled by completely unreasonable expectations.

-I was sad about his time at Manchester United, because I felt that United demanded too much from him, Coman begins to Rio Ferdinand at Riomeets.

“When I think back on it, it was also there that he started to speak out a bit. He was still very good, but people demanded that he score goals even though he was only a midfielder. And the expected assists. They expected everything from him,” Coman continues.

“If I remember correctly, there was a time when he was the top scorer in both goals and assists, and you can’t expect that from a midfielder, but when you do, you can’t expect him to take care of his other tasks at the same time. I feel like that’s what was expected of him, and I really don’t think it was his fault,” says the French international.

“Of course, there were some things he could have done differently, but I really think there were some demands made of him that no other midfielder in the world has ever met,” says Coman.
