Magne Hoseth probably doesn’t have many good memories from Lyngby. The Norwegian coach got two league games before he was fired. Now another Superliga club has shown they don’t take their finger off the panic button. Hoseth was hired in the winter, this time it concerns a coach who has been with us through last season, this year’s pre-season and led the club in the first league round – when it suddenly came to an end.

It was a football game on Funen on Thursday morning. Superliga club Odense Boldklub chose to fire coach Alexander Zorniger after only one league round.

This is a historic dismissal, as it has never happened so early in a Superliga season before, reports superstats.dk. Although Zorniger managed to lead OB in 38 games, 37 of them were played last season. With only one Superliga round behind him (1-0 loss against Viborg), the German thus sets a bad record.

He surpasses Ove Christensen, who was fired at Viborg in 2006 after only two rounds of play.
