It’s a long career that is coming to an end, but not quite yet. Even Hovland’s contract with BK Häcken expired 22 days ago. The 35-year-old has played for a number of clubs such as Sogndal, German FC Nürnberg, Molde and Rosenborg. – There have also been 29 matches with the Norwegian flag on the chest.

The Norwegian, who turns 36 in February, left Norway and Rosenborg after almost four years back in January 2022. Then he signed for BK Häcken – a club he has been at ever since, but at the turn of the year his contract expired at the Swedish club.

Hovland won Allsvenskan with BK Häcken in 2022, led by Per-Mathias Høgmo. The following year, they won the cup gold together. Last season without Høgmo, who has now taken over the helm in Molde, it was tougher and only an eighth place.

After a few days of soundings and downtime, talks are underway with the Allevenskan club IF Brommapojkarna, who have doubled up with head coaches in Olof Mellberg and Andreas Engelmark.

Last night the following headline in Expresse was: “The Norwegian center back Even Hovland is close to BP”

IF Brommapojkarna landed in tenth place in Allsvenskan last season. – We at Sporten have also speculated that there will be a return to Molde, it would have been a good fit with the success that Per-Mathias Høgmo and Even Hovland have had together.
