Manchester United will sell off large parts of the squad as quickly as possible to create Ruben Amorim’s new team.
Someone who is really good to sell is Marcus Rashford, seen from a financial point of view. As he has risen through the ranks at Manchester United, he will be a “net” sale.
Barcelona are “aware” of Marcus Rashford’s situation, but do not consider him a priority at the moment, according to Spanish media. Manchester United want 48 million euros, a price they will have to pay if they do not meet sufficient interest.
The Manchester United superstar is always in the news – and always under fire Rashford has underperformed ever since his amazing 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23 and continues to be the subject of heated debate.
As one of Man Utd’s biggest earners, Rashford is expected to resign, but he rarely does, the brief flashes of brilliance are always overshadowed by his lack of use on the pitch and escapades of it.
The 27-year-old’s ‘lifestyle’ has recently been called into question again, and this has once again given rise to renewed speculation about his future. It has been claimed that Man Utd would be open to selling him as early as January to finance Ruben Amorim’s rebuild and to avoid falling apart with financial rules.
The biggest problem with the winter exit proposal is, of course, the fact that it will be hugely difficult to attract the kind of offer that reflects Rashford’s value, even if it continues to decline steadily.
The Man Utd academy graduate will not come cheap, and on Thursday it was reported that Man Utd had set a price tag of €48 million, making it hard to imagine that many clubs would come forward with interest in a mid-season transfer.
One club that has been linked with Rashford is Barcelona. According to Sport, the Blaugrana family is admittedly aware of the situation, but that’s about it.
Barcelona do not see Rashford as a priority and are unlikely to make any kind of approach for the 27-year-old as things stand now. Barcelona are in the market for a striker or a winger, but there are better options on the market, unless the slightly cold shoulder is a tactic to bring down the price.
