On Wednesday, striker legend Oliver Giroud turns 40. The Frenchman is still on the boil in Ligue 1 at Lille, so far he has 12 goals in 50 games. Now he talks about his plan for next summer. It consists of absolutely no plans.
Giroud retired from the French national team in 2024 with an impressive 57 goals and 137 appearances, now Wednesday’s birthday boy says that now is the time to retire at club level.

On the occasion of Oliver Giroud’s 40th birthday, L’Equipe has conducted a lengthy interview with the experienced Frenchman. Here, he makes it clear, among other things, that his retirement as a footballer is approaching.
“We would love to do interviews with L’Équipe next year, but as a player I think this is probably my last season. That’s why I enjoy every moment,” Giroud told the French media.

Giroud moved to Lille last summer on a contract that expires in a year. Before that, he had played for Los Angeles FC in MLS, but he is best known for his time at AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal.
