Erling Braut Haaland did his thing in the World Cup, but suddenly had a bad time when the whole of Oslo was going to pay tribute to the World Cup heroes. At that time, Haaland was on his way to an Italian fashion show. We do not interfere in this decision, but this illustrates that the Norwegian national team players have slightly different priorities and views on football as a profession. Patrick Berg, he’s so far away from Italian fashion shows, celebrities and paparazzi photographers – and loves it!

Foreign journalists are stunned when they hear Patrick Berg, the star of both the Champions League and the World Cup, does not see the need to open up for offers from the big clubs out in Europe, because he says he has a perfect time at Bodø/Glimt.

Berg has been in the World Cup bubble for 41 days, was praised by “all of Norway” after returning – and goes straight to his everyday work in the Eliteserien.

The most talked about Norway’s goal scorers – and captain Martin Ødegaard. In the group stage, the 28-year-old provided two crucial assists in the group stage against Ivory Coast and Senegal, and provided an assist for Haaland’s decisive goal in the 2-1 win against Brazil. Against the Brazilian stars, he won 7 duels and had a success rate of 86 percent in “ground relationships”. England also got to feel Berg’s extreme running ability and strength/timing in the duels.

Berg also showed in the World Cup quarterfinals that he is made for the big games. With his broad experience from the Europa League and Champions League for Bodø/Glimt against the biggest clubs, Bergo keeps calm and work ethic through the greatest pressure. This rubs off on the rest of the Norwegian national team squad.
