Mauricio Pochettino has previously been linked with the Real Madrid job, in 2022 the answer from the Argentine was: “Sometimes it’s just about timing. However, I don’t think you only get the opportunity once.” According to The Athletic , Pochettino is now one of the candidates for Real president Florentino Perez, who is said to be a big fan of the former Tottenham coach.

It’s all about timing,” Pochettino stated four years ago. After the World Cup finals, Poch is without a contract as national team coach of the United States, where Roberto de Zerbi has taken the Tottenham job (Spurs fans had hoped the favourite Pochettino would get).
