Bayern Munich have set their sights on FC Barcelona’s playmaker Fermín López. The German giant is preparing an offer of €80 million to persuade the Blaugrana to sell – and the main priority for Bayern’s next transfer window is to strengthen and renew the midfield.

Vincent Kompany, who is back on the training ground after being unwell, has himself asked for the Andalusian footballer to be put in place to supplement the attacking line. At the same time, the Barcelona management is considering a permanent transfer to provide liquidity – money that can finance reinforcements in both defence and attack.

Kompany sees Fermín as a perfect match
The Belgian coach believes that the 23-year-old’s dynamic style fits like a glove in his tactical system, along with the likes of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Ismail Saibari and Lennart Karl.

At the start of the 2026/27 season, the midfielder has delivered 5 goals and 4 assists in his competitive games under Hansi Flick. Bayern’s sports committee particularly values his ability to come from the second line and his positional aggressiveness – qualities that enable him to push the opponent’s ball out in the Bundesliga.

Barcelona opens for sale – several clubs are deceiving
At Camp Nou, the technical management under Joan Laporta does not rule out a millionaire sale. Doubts surrounding the player’s performance in matches with maximum international demand have created uncertainty. Although Fermín is contracted until June 2031, the €80 million will allow Barcelona to make the signings the squad desperately needs.

At the same time as Bayern works, Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United – as well as Paris Saint-Germain – are surveying his physical and contractual situation in detail. Bayern’s scouts will continue to follow the player closely in the LaLiga and Champions League matches throughout November and December 2026.

The ball is in the player’s court
There are many indications that the decision ultimately lies with Fermín himself. If he asks to leave the club, he will not be turned down. If the preliminary negotiations between the clubs are successful at the end of the season, Bayern will formalize the offer of 80 million euros and complete the transfer.
