Liverpool chase shooting star in competition with ‘the whole world’ – ready to trade Yan Diomande for €120 million

Liverpool refuse to give up on the dream of Yan Diomande. Despite fierce competition from Paris Saint-Germain and a sad development in the transfer saga, the Reds still believe they can secure the RB Leipzig jewel this summer. Now a surprising swap plus a chunk of cash could be the key.

The 20-year-old from Ivory Coast is Liverpool’s clear first choice to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah. The club has decided to let the iconic Egyptian go – and the search for the successor has been going on for months.

But RB Leipzig are playing hard. – With the full support of the owners and global managers!

Increasing the price day by day for new manager Andoni Iraola’s dream signing

The Germans are doing everything they can to keep their star for another year. Every day that passes without a response from Diomande, they reportedly add one million euros to the price tag.

“Leipzig will have a clear answer first. Either he signs a new contract, or they sell. As long as they wait, they keep the price artificially high to buy time,” explains journalist Ben Jacobs in a podcast. According to him, however, things can turn around quickly. As soon as Diomande says he wants to leave, the price is expected to fall.

However, Liverpool’s legendary manager Jürgen Klopp is pulling the strings as Red Bull’s global head of football. – He knows the world wants the very goal-scoring 20-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain is lurking in the wings

The competition from Paris is nevertheless serious. Diomande himself has expressed his love for PSG – which has caused nervousness at Anfield.

But according to Jacobs, exactly that could open a door for Liverpool:

“PSG also likes Diomande. If he goes there, Bradley Barcola could become available. He gets little playing time on the left wing because of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue starts all the big games. Then Liverpool might be able to trade Barcola instead.

Barcola is high on Liverpool’s wish list, but Diomande is still the big favourite.

Concerns are growing

The problem? Diomande is not pushing to leave. He is fully focused on the Club World Cup with Ivory Coast and wants to impress on the biggest stage before he decides.

At the same time, Liverpool are working behind the scenes. TEAMtalk’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey reveals that the Reds are considering using Cody Gakpo as a swap piece. The Dutchman is said to be unhappy at Anfield after Arne Slot’s departure, and it is rumoured that he does not suit Andoni Iraola’s high-pressure style.

Gakpo has already asked to leave the club.

Liverpool are hoping that a swap deal could unlock a transfer worth over €100 million. But Leipzig are in a tough position. They demand that every sale now starts at a three-digit million amount – not ends there.

The battle for Diomande is on. And it will probably be decided within a few weeks.
