A year has passed since Roger Federer retired from the sport. On this occasion, the Swiss chatted with Jim Courier after the first day of the Laver Cup. One of the surprises of the interview was a question for Federer from his greatest sports rival and close friend Rafael Nadal.
A year after Roger Federer retired at the 2022 Laver Cup, he returned to the tournament’s court to talk about his career and his first year away from tennis.
Roger Federer spoke to Jim Courier on the court at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Between Courier’s questions to the former tennis player, Rafael Nadal unexpectedly appeared on the big screen and asked Federer a question of his own. The question he asked was a bit tricky.
Nadal wanted to know who was Federer’s favorite doubles partner, causing Federer to smile.
“I mean, I thought it was my wife until this guy showed up. So, yeah, Rafa can have it.” – said Federer remembering the times they played together as in the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup.
