When we take out the ski wax and put it in the forest or in the high mountains at Christmas, this is a tradition that goes back a long way. For Englishmen, Christmas is also a football holiday. We have also embraced this tradition of Boxing Day Football and matches for large parts of Christmas, but last Christmas a huge disappointment awaited: 1 poor Premier League game on Christmas Day. Now the Premier League reports this has been corrected this year. It’s just a matter of getting ready again for a fireworks display of English football matches at Christmas.
In 2025, there was only one Premier League game on December 26. This year, however, there are seven games, which the Premier League confirms on its website.

The afternoon starts with matches such as Aston Villa – Leeds and Everton – Sunderland.
Then promoted Hull City will be visited by Liverpool FC, while the evening ends with Newcastle – Manchester City.
