When Erling Haaland left Borussia Dortmund after choosing Manchester City among the world’s biggest clubs, “experts” warned that the Premier League and the world’s toughest league would be something completely different from football on German turf. Young Haaland didn’t understand the problem, went on to score 36 goals in 35 PL games and scored Manchester City to the club’s first Champions League title with 12 goals in 11 games. Four years later, Manchester City’s top scorer list shows that the Norwegian light lug has rocketed to the top of the throne.
Sergio Aguero still sits at the top, but if Haaland stays at City and continues at the same pace, the top scorer crown could already be sitting on Haaland’s head within three seasons.
