Real Madrid have notified Benfica in writing that they will pay the €15 million for José Mourinho next week, Portuguese newspaper Record has learned.

The intention was expressed after the publication of a video – allegedly made with artificial intelligence – that was spread by Florentino Pérez’s election campaign. In the video, Mourinho appears wearing a shirt from the Spanish club, which officially confirms that the incumbent president wants to pick up “The Special One” if he wins the election next Sunday.
It can’t be made clearer than this!
Mourinho, who we have previously featured, contacted Benfica immediately after the video surfaced. He assured that he had not recorded it, and that it was made with artificial intelligence.
After the €7 million dismissal deadline had expired – and with Mourinho still linked to Benfica until 2027, but the future already designated at the Santiago Bernabéu – Benfica’s SAD was only waiting for the payment of the €15 million. Now it is known that this will happen next week.

Benfica have also been investing in Marco Silva for a long time. They already have an agreement with him for a two-year contract, plus an option.
