Kylian Mbappé is not very popular with Real Madrid exactly. Supporters rage over diva behaviour on injury breaks, players also react to the Frenchman’s high profile outside, while they and the club are out of the Champions League and failed to catch up with Barcelona who took the title. Now a clearly disgruntled Mbappé is talking about the situation.

In this weekend’s El Clásico, he was not selected at all, even though he was supposedly ready. On Thursday night, the Frenchman was booed and taunted when he came on the pitch in the second half.

After Thursday’s 2-0 win against Real Oviedo, Mbappé explained:

“I didn’t play because the coach told me that for him I’m the fourth choice among the strikers. I was ready to start, but it’s his decision,” Kylian Mbappé said according to Diario AS.

When asked if he has any problems with Arbeloa.

“No, not at all. But you have to accept the coach’s decision. I have to work to be better than Vinicius, Mastantuono and Gonzalo Garcia. In the end, I have to accept it,” says the superstar. We believe we sense a touch of spitefulness from the player, who himself believes he is Mr. Ballon d’Or.

His contract with Real Madrid runs until 2029. If the Frenchman is to be able to continue, he will probably need a coach who really takes control of the “locker room”.
