We had hoped to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in the Premier League, but are content to see the United legend back as a coach in the league where football means “everything”. Now the club confirms negotiations with Solskjaer.
On Thursday, it was reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had boarded the plane to Istanbul, where an imminent signing awaits.
The club is Besiktas, who fired Giovanni van Bronckhorst back in November. Assistant coach Serdar Topraktepe was thrown in as a substitute. Now the proud big club is in a tenacious 6th place, with an impossible distance up to Galatasaray and Fenernahce in the top two places.
Solskjaer was linked with the Besiktas job before Christmas, but there was no deal. This time, Besiktas confidently announce that everything will fall into place with the former Manchester United manager.
