The Greek big club Olympiakos has secured center back Zinedin Smajlovic from Sandefjord. The elite league club confirms this on their website.
“When a player comes from level 2 in Sweden and goes on to Olympiakos after only one and a half years, it is another example of the good work done by the coaching staff and the club. We wish Zinedin the best of luck in his future career, says sports director Matteus Bårdsen on Sandefjord’s pages.

Transfermarkt believes that Olympiakos will pay just over 6.5 million euros for the 22-year-old – a huge sale for Sandefjord, it actually corresponds to a year’s turnover at the club. (Ref 2024)
Smajlovic was brought in for free from Swedish Sandviken before the 2025 season. Since then, the 22-year-old has taken the Eliteserien by storm – and become one of the hottest names on the transfer rumor mill. Now Greek football and European adventure await the youngster.
