Benjamin Sesko has had a promising start at Manchester United – but that doesn’t stop the club from chasing one of the planet’s very best strikers. Now they are ready to act, if the chance arises.
The Slovenian joined United from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £74 million last summer. After a tough start, he finished his debut season strongly with 12 goals in 32 games.

The arrival of Michael Carrick in January was the turning point for Sesko. The manager insisted that he is a big part of the plans and that the 23-year-old could be the spearhead for years to come.
United finished third in the Premier League last season and secured Champions League play. Since INEOS took over the club’s sporting operations, there has been a shift in both spending and the profile of players they are chasing.
One superstar still on his wish list: Harry Kane.
Kane yes please – if the chance presents itself
Manchester United are ready to fund a transfer for the England captain if the opportunity arises. TEAMtalk reports that they are ready to sell Benjamin Sesko if Harry Kane becomes available on the market. – In fact, they are willing to go down the splits if needed to land a transfer.
Kane has entered the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich – but the German giants are confident of extending the deal.
The interest in the 32-year-old is global. Barcelona have already enquired, and Real Madrid have asked to be kept updated. A return to Tottenham is also a possibility, in the middle of the north Londoners’ ambitious transfer window.
Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are also interested, but Kane is not said to be interested in going to the Middle East at this stage of his career. A future MLS transfer is mentioned, but it is more of a long-term scenario than something he is considering now.
If he is to leave Bayern, everything points to another European club.
“The best in the world” – but probably just a dream
United’s interest in Kane is partly due to co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s admiration for “the best footballer in the world”. The Briton rarely interferes in transfer decisions at Old Trafford – but can intervene if the chance arises to bring in England’s all-time goal king.
Kane would be an unreal signing for Carrick – a world-class striker who could send the Red Devils back into the title race. But everything indicates that he is enjoying his stay in Munich and will probably extend his stay at Bayern.
England’s all-time top scorer is in the form of life – but United missed the chance to land the Ballon d’Or candidate already in 2023, when he left Spurs for Bayern. A shocking sequence of events would happen if they were to secure his signature this summer.
