When you’re on the payroll with well over three hundred thousand pounds in weekly wages, the expectations of Man Utd supporters are set high. Especially when some of the local supporters themselves are struggling to afford to pay for annual passes at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford has been working for much of 2026 to sign a permanent contract with Barcelona, but the La Liga giant opted out of the former United star. Thus, Rashford wears the United shirt again. So far, the player has been in the match arena for 435 minutes without scoring or assists, now there is a buzz among the supporters. Former star striker Teddy Sheringham believes the 28-year-old is doing the job, but does not need to get unnecessary pats on the back.

“Marcus Rashford has been unlucky this season. He’s definitely putting in the effort. He’s not the problem at Manchester United at the moment. From what I’ve seen, it looks like he’s got his head on the right keel, which it always should have been,” Sheringham told Unitedinfocus.

But for us to praise Rashford for having changed his attitude out on the match ground, it is completely absurd for Sheringham.

“He’s a professional footballer. We shouldn’t be sitting here patting him on the back and saying good job to have a good attitude. It should never have been a question in the first place,” says the former Manchester United striker, who together with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sunk Bayern Munich in injury time in the 1999 Champions League final.
