Stefano Vecchia (31) is ready for Aalesunds Fotballklubb. The Swedish striker has signed a contract until 2026, and comes to the club with solid experience from top-flight football in both Norway and Sweden.
Attack has been one of several problem areas this season, as the table situation in the Eliteserien testifies.

“It feels really good. I recently ended my contract with Malmö, and this opportunity lured me. I’ve had Kjetil and Geir before, and I’m very excited to come here and contribute with what I can and win games,” says Vecchia himself to Aalesund Fotball’s pages.
Known for its offensive qualities
The 31-year-old can cover several offensive positions and is known for his technical skills, finishing ability and ability to challenge one-on-one.
AaFK coach Kjetil Rekdal is very pleased to have secured the Swede.
“Stefano is an experienced attacking player with very good offensive skills. He is good one-on-one and comes here with a lot of experience from the top level. We know his qualities well and are happy that he will be joining us this autumn,” says Rekdal.
Has won both Norwegian and Swedish silver
Vecchia is no unknown figure for Norwegian football. He played for Rosenborg from 2021 to 2022 and delivered an impressive 23 goals in 40 games in all competitions.
Then he went to Malmö FF, where he helped win Allsvenskan in both 2023 and 2024. Earlier in his career, he represented Brommapojkarna and Sirius in Swedish football.
“A lot of potential in the squad”
Now Vecchia hopes to contribute with both goals and points for his new club.
“They got a lot of good things out of me in Rosenborg, and hopefully I can help the team get a lot of points. It’s a pretty young squad, so there’s a lot to gain here and a lot of potential. I’m a player who likes to offer myself and score a lot of goals,” Vecchia concludes.
Vecchia joins the AaFK squad with immediate effect. Now the Swede is ready for a new chapter in Norwegian football – this time in orange and blue.
