When Thiago Motta was brought from Bologna to Juventus in the summer, the former Barcelona and PSG player had led underdog Bologna to a historically strong 5th place in Serie A and play in the Champions League this season. Somewhat genius, Motta was the Juve management’s “dream coach” after sacking Allegri in May. Already after seven months, the Serie A club has turned to the next coaching candidate.

Motta has so far led the Turin club to fifth place in Serie A with a measly 8 wins and 13 draws in 22 games. According to L’Ëquipe, the Juventus management has started the work of mapping candidates to take over the job.

The French newspaper reports that Motta is not in danger of being fired right now, but the Juventus bosses have felt compelled to call Xavi to gauge the mood.

The former Barcelona coach has been inactive since the summer and has previously been linked to the Serie A giants before choosing Motta.

Nothing is said about Xavi’s response, but he knows better than to openly chase a coaching job that is filled.

Then we are excited to follow Motta’s performances in Serie A in the future. Juventus is not like Bologna, here they are not cheering for 5th place.
