Manchester United have four defeats and one draw in their last five games. The problems in several places on the pitch are obvious, but with Benjamin Sesko out with an injury that could be more serious than previously thought, a lack of punch from the striker position will force United into the transfer market. Dominic Calvert-Kalvin is on the list, but the former Everton striker is thriving and delivering in the Leeds shirt, this door is unlikely to open. Now it is reported that an “old acquaintance” is back on United’s wish list.
It’s about Ivan Toney. As Brentford’s top scorer, the England international was closely linked to Manchester United, but Toney ran into Saudi Arabian money bins.

According to Caugtoffside , United have now signalled strong interest in Toney, and have also asked about his situation, as he has long been linked with a return to the Premier League:
“My understanding is that Toney is happy with life in the Saudi Pro League, where he has performed well and managed to keep his place for England, thus joining Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup this summer. Yet a number of sources also insist that he would be open to returning to the Premier League if the right opportunity presents itself,” begins Caughtoffside’s Mark Brus.
“United have him as one name on their list, although I’ve been told he’s one of several options still being considered internally. The priority for United is a proven goalscorer who can fill in for Sesko while injured,” a source explained. “I don’t expect a big investment for a young striker… more likely a loan or a cheap short-term deal.”

We remember how Toney wreaked havoc in the Premier League in the Brentford shirt, although it can’t possibly be compared, the 30-year-old has continued to hammer in goals in Saudi Arabian football with 67 goals in 71 league games.
For us, an Ivan Toney at the top is exactly what Manchester United need from January. Go for it!
