Just over a week ago, Sporten.com released the news that Michael Olise wanted to meet with Bayern Munich as soon as the World Cup is over, the topic was his immediate future. – The downturn from not being able to play the final and winning the whole thing with France has ensured that the sell-off meeting, which was scheduled for this week, has been postponed until next week.
The German giant, who know they may have to sell their French star worth 150 million euros, plans to present a race that makes playing for the club even better.

The Real Madrid president has named the Frenchman as the club’s most important signing this summer – but nothing happens until the last minute.
Michael Olise, the 24-year-old winger from Bayern Munich, is still at the top of Real Madrid’s wish list. But according to Joaquín Maroto, journalist for the newspaper AS, Florentino Pérez has no plans to strike until the very last 72 hours of the transfer window – i.e. August 29, 30 and 31.
Olise is held off until the market closes
Maroto told the Doctor Jota channel that a possible move could only become relevant in the final stretch of the transfer window. The idea is that Pérez wants to keep all doors open for as long as possible to consider sales, the final needs of the squad – and not least where Bayern Munich stand as the days count down.
This means that there will be no immediate transfer for Michael Olise anytime soon. Real Madrid will not submit a bid in the coming weeks, nor will they be pressured by market rumours.
Maroto suggests that operations that Pérez himself leads are often decided in the final phase. In this case, the time window is set for August 29-31 – a short period that requires quick agreement between the clubs if something is to happen.
Bayern Munich has all the cards
The biggest challenge for Real Madrid is Bayern Munich. The German big club currently has no plans to let Olise go. The Frenchman’s contract runs until June 30, 2029, giving Bayern full control of the situation.
And it is easy to understand why they want to keep him. In the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, Olise recorded 15 goals and 19 assists – numbers that make him one of Europe’s most sought-after wingers.
Bayern have repeatedly stressed in recent weeks that the winger will stay, and he is a key piece in their sporting plans. This forces Real Madrid to wait for a change in the situation before they can start formal negotiations.
A transfer will in any case require Olise himself to clearly signal that he wants to leave Bayern, and that the Germans are open to negotiations. For now, there is neither a price tag nor an open door from the owners’ club.
Real Madrid has other things to think about
In Valdebebas, the assessment is that the squad is already strengthened in defence, and that Bernardo Silva provides an extra solution in midfield. The sporting management has looked at other options, but none have created enough enthusiasm to speed up a signing.
Planning is also linked to possible sales. Real Madrid do not consider the market closed and are open to adjustments, but big news is unlikely to be expected until the last week of August.
