Brighton have had quite a sporting and financial journey over the past five years. It started with Graham Potter, then Roberto de Zerbi, then a good start for Fabian Hürzeler this season. Every transfer window, big clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool have travelled to Brighton to pay tens of millions of pounds for signings, for some over a hundred million pounds. On Saturday, successful Brighton supporters reacted by demanding: “Fire everyone!”

The Brighton supporters who had travelled to Nottingham came with the expectation that the Premier League’s currently 3rd best club, Forest, was shaken after a horrendous away loss to Bournemouth.

Then kick-off took place, nine minutes later it was already over for Brighton. After the quick Forest score, it was a one-way drive that did not stop until it was 7-0 to the home team Forest.

Talk about the meltdown for the Brighton players and coach Hürzeler, the youngest manager in Premier League history. Brighton supporters will have to flip through the history book to find a worse loss. In the 1958/1959 season, the club lost 9–0 to Middelsbrough.
