We can determine with surgical accuracy that Newcastle will not play in the Champions League next season, which was a prerequisite for manager Eddie Howe to continue in the job. – A lot of water has flowed into Mjøsa since before this year’s season, so things are not as obvious now. The latest thing out of St James’ Park is that he will keep his job.

The “Magpies” have had a very disappointing season. Currently, they sit 13th in the table, despite a win over Brighton at the weekend that broke a five-game losing streak. Eddie Howe is still expected to keep his job into next season – and a major rebuild is already underway.
Several first-team stars at St. James’ Park are to be considered for a clean slate.
Newcastle push for Curtis Jones transfer
Curtis Jones, who has been described as “unbelievable”, will enter the final twelve months of his contract at Anfield in the summer. An exit from his childhood club has gradually become a real possibility.
Aston Villa have already made contact regarding a summer deal. Inter Milan also tried to sign him in January, and the Italians could return at the end of the season. Now Newcastle have also thrown themselves into the race for his signature, and they are following his situation closely.

– Jones is said to be interested in Inter
Jones is said to be interested in a move to Inter Milan. He feels that a new challenge in a new country can be good for him. But Newcastle are prepared to fight for his signature, and they believe he could be the ideal replacement for Sandro Tonali – who is heavily linked with a sale.
Newcastle are therefore considering their options for the summer transfer window, and Jones is high on the list. So far, however, no formal transfer is in place.
Newcastle could have an advantage in Jones negotiations
Jones is a Liverpool fan, and it is highly unlikely that he himself will push to leave Anfield in the summer. Still, it is clear that there is currently no agreement on a new contract – and the decision could just as easily be taken out of his hands.
A move to Inter would definitely be a new challenge for Jones. But Inter just won Serie A with a completely dominant midfield, and he can quickly have problems playing his way into the team there.
Similarly at Aston Villa, he would face great competition from the likes of Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana for a place in the starting line-up.
At Newcastle – especially if Tonali leaves – there is a big hole in the midfield. There, Jones can step right in and make an immediate difference. That’s exactly what Howe will no doubt tell him – and it undoubtedly gives him a lot to think about.
