In July 2022, Tottenham signed Djed Spence for £20 million. Then-Spurs manager Antonio Conte welcomed the young player by telling the world: “This is the club’s signing, not mine.” It turned out that it wasn’t the club’s signing either, but this summer Spence showed more of his potential.
We saw it in Norway’s match against England in the World Cup quarter-finals. Djed Spence showed an acceleration and speed on the wing like few others on the pitch (also came fresh and fast from the bench), and was the energy boost that helped England manage to win with extra time. At Tottenham, on the other hand, there has been no success to speak of. With the World Cup as an exhibition window, Spence has nevertheless played himself into the running for a reigning league champion.

Inter Milan have previously shown great interest in the lightning fast player, according to Gazzetta dello Sport , negotiations are in the final phase, where a transfer is expected.
The Italian media reports Spence’s signing costs the reigning Serie A champions around €30 million plus bonuses, with the 26-year-old looking to fill the gap left by Denzel Dumfries, who left for Real Madrid in the summer.
Inter are working on closing the deal before the start of the season, but Spence is not necessarily considered ready to play anytime soon, as he has just returned from vacation after the World Cup.

Spence’s defensive strengths fit well into Inter coach Cristian Chivu’s 3-5-2 formation. At Tottenham, there was nothing more to be gained.
