Spurs got off to a very disappointing start last weekend when they were thoroughly beaten 3-0 by Brentford. Newcastle, on the other hand, had to settle for a draw in their opening game, as a last-minute penalty gave Liverpool a 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park. – Liverpool have just finished their second game of the season, also with a draw, this time against Nottingham Forest at home at Anfield.

The Magpies have a strong record against Tottenham in recent years, but they will probably still go in as underdogs in this game – several key players have left the club in the summer window.
Among them was Sandro Tonali, who joined Tottenham from Newcastle in a transfer worth £100 million. He now faces his old club, while Newcastle field their seventh signing in the transfer window – a player who will fill the void left by Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes in midfield.

Tonali returns to the starting eleven against his old team, while Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro and Andy Robertson also come in.

18-year-old Sean Steur is among those who are relegated to the bench after starting the first two games.
