The Turkish Super Lig has become one of the hottest destinations for big names seeking new challenges. Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah is among the latest to accept – and he is far from alone.

In recent years, several Premier League personalities have swapped England for Turkey. But Salah could be the biggest coup the league has ever made – just 12 months ago, he was considered one of the world’s best players.

The Egyptian is joined by several other Premier League winners in Turkey – and is richly rewarded for his efforts. In fact, he is immediately among the league’s highest-paid.

26–11: Million-dollar salaries and stardom

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce dominate the list of Turkey’s highest-paid players. Names like Diego Carlos, Lucas Torreira and Nelson Semedo all earn over £80,000 a week after swapping England for Turkey.

Ilkay Gündogan and Davinson Sánchez are also now teammates at Galatasaray – after playing for Manchester City and Tottenham respectively. The duo’s weekly wages? £92,471 each.

Other profiles earning well include former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and ex-City star Nathan Aké – both at Fenerbahce for £123,118 a week.

Romelu Lukaku has completed his seventh permanent transfer – this time from Napoli to Fenerbahce. He and compatriot Leandro Trossard earn £102,655 and £133,533 a week respectively.

Fabinho has followed his old Liverpool teammate Salah to Trabzonspor this summer. After three years in Saudi Arabia, he is now paid £145,600 a week – according to SalaryLeaks.
