Wayne Rooney keeps his word. Almost. Because where all of Norway is done with Viking rowing, the Manchester United icon is taking on the years. Not up the River Mersey in former archrival Liverpool’s kingdom, but on the Hudson River. Anyway, a tribute to Norway’s World Cup heroes.
“If Norway makes it to the quarter-finals, I’ll go to the River Mersey and row it down.” A funny comment from Wayne Rooney after Norway had won against the Ivory Coast. For Rooney, no problem with promising away, because how on earth would the football mosquito Norway beat Brazil.

We announced this would be a gift package for Liverpool supporters with this year’s “video”, where the Manchester United legend rows through Liverpool. We saw how thousands of Liverpool fans would line up along the banks of the Mersey to take a picture of the arch-rival’s club legend in a tight rowing shirt. Norway beat Brazil, the football legend was reminded of what he had promised. In the end, Rooney moderated to do it on the Hudson River.
