Manchester United are ready to complete the signing of young Liverpool striker Vincent Joseph, after he has agreed to a scholarship deal at Old Trafford. This is reported by journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Man United and INEOS have stepped up their efforts to bolster Michael Carrick’s first-team squad as the club prepares to play in the Champions League for the first time in three seasons.

The Red Devils have already secured one signing – Ederson from Atalanta – and are now planning a major overhaul of their midfield. Casemiro is leaving the club, and Manuel Ugarte is expected to follow if United have their way.

However, United have had to drop dream targets such as Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Newcastle star Sandro Tonali due to the high cost. At the same time, their preferred replacement for Casemiro – Aurélien Tchouaméni – looks set to leave Real Madrid, further complicating the picture.

Betting on the stars of the future

But the first team is not the only one who gets attention. The club management is also working intensively to secure the greatest youth talents, as they have done with players such as Sekou Koné, Chido Obi, Diego León and Cristian Orozco in recent years.

Now they are ready to make another scoop in youth football.

Joseph leaves Liverpool – ready for United

According to O’Rourke, who shared the news on social media, Liverpool and England U16 striker Vincent Joseph are now ready to leave Anfield and join Manchester United.

The 16-year-old striker has signed a scholarship deal at Old Trafford, and in the coming weeks will make the short trip across the northwest of England to swap red for red.

Impressive goal flair

Joseph has really caused a stir among the United scouts. He has eight goals in nine caps for England’s U16 team, and has also scored three goals in two U18 games for Liverpool in March and April – statistics that make the talent highly ranked in English youth football.

Could be followed by senior striker

While United are bringing in young talent, they are also considering bringing in an experienced striker in the summer. That could depend on what happens with Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee in the transfer window.

Carrick currently has Bryan Mbeumo and Zirkzee as options alongside Benjamin Sesko, but if United are really going to fight in both the league and the Champions League, it won’t be surprising if they bring in another striker – especially if Zirkzee leaves.

So far, rumours have been moderate on the striker front, but names such as Robert Lewandowski, Dušan Vlahović, Victor Osimhen and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta have all been mentioned. Lewandowski and Vlahović are available on free transfers, but the Pole is reportedly in talks with the Chicago Fire about a possible MLS adventure.
