Nottingham Forest took a huge step away from the relegation swamp when they completely crowned Sunderland and beat them 5-0 in the Premier League away at the Stadium of Light.

Forest climbed to 39 points and are now unbeaten in six straight league games in a row. West Ham are just above the red line – with six points fewer. Tottenham, on the other hand, are in deep crisis with just 31 points.
Nottingham Forest’s formidable form curve means that the battle for the last relegation place is becoming more and more of a two-way battle between West Ham and Tottenham.
Tottenham travel to the Molineux Stadium today on Saturday to face Woverhampton, while West Ham also host Everton in good form at the London Stadium.
In Friday’s clash, Nottingham Forest took the lead from their opponent after just 17 minutes. Then Sunderland full-back Trai Hume put the ball in his own net. Half an hour into the game, Chris Wood doubled the lead, before Morgan Gibbs-White and Igor Jesus each knocked in goals before half-time.

Elliot Anderson made it 5-0 in injury time. Sunderland will be visited by Wolverhampton in the next round of the Premier League, while Chelsea will be waiting for a swarm of a Nottingham Forest side.
