Calle Halfvarsson, a Swedish cross-country skier who competed in the 2014 and 2018 Olympics, suffered severe injuries while competing in Ruka, Finland.
The Swedish runner suffered frostbite to his penis during the 20-kilometer World Cup race, which took place in temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius in Ruka. Ruja is located in the Ostrobothnia region in the Arctic Circle.
– My penis is frozen. I really… Damn, I had to stay in the warm-up tent for 10 minutes to warm him up – Halfvarsson explained, as quoted by Marca.
