Aston Villa will be looking to build on their Europa League triumph by adding more quality to their attack this summer – before returning to the Champions League.

Unai Emery’s side cemented their place in Europe’s top company with a 3-0 win over SC Freiburg, while also securing a long-awaited trophy after a 30-year trophy drought. Last week, they followed up by securing the top four in the Premier League after beating Liverpool 4-2 at Villa Park.

After Ederson: Manchester United ‘close to agreement’ on signing €100 million star

Right now, in the last Premier League game of the season, they are leading 1 – 2 over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

But the club is not finished. They want to improve their squad further in the summer window to maintain their success – and now they set their sights on a sensational attacking talent from Bayern Munich’s shelf.

Just so you can stop wondering… despite sharing the same surname, Ibrahimović is not related to former Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Villa are chasing Bayern sensation Arijon Ibrahimovic

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are considering signing Bayern Munich star Arijon Ibrahimovic this summer. The 20-year-old, who has been described as “one of Germany’s biggest talents”, has impressed greatly in the Bundesliga.

He spent the season on loan at Heidenheim, where he played in several different positions, scoring two goals and having four assists – this despite the team being relegated from the top tier in Germany.

Tactical intelligence catches the eye

His tactical intelligence, physical strength and technical quality have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. Aston Villa are monitoring the situation closely – in case Bayern Munich are willing to let him go on a new loan or permanent this summer.

Villa are desperate to add more attacking depth to their squad, especially with Leon Bailey and Jadon Sancho expected to leave the club this summer. Bayern believe in Ibrahimovic’s abilities, but are open to letting him move on if the deal is right.

Open to everything – the race is intensifying

The player himself should be open to all possible outcomes, and the race for his signature is increasing as the seasons come to an end.

Villa have had great success in recent years in bringing in young talents from other clubs and developing them in their own squad. Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, Ian Maatsen, Boubacar Kamara, Amadou Onana, Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins are all examples of this.

– Can reach great heights under Emery

Admittedly, Ibrahimovic does not have the same first-team experience that these players had when they arrived. But his talent level is enormous, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he reaches great heights under Emery’s leadership.

A deal will probably not be too complicated to close. And for Aston Villa, who are preparing for Champions League play again, this could be a real “wildcard” signing.
