Two Arsenal players are both wanted by the same club – and a deal could change everything for the rest of the transfer window.
Arsenal have received a so-called “package offer” from a club for two of their players – a move that could trigger a major transfer domino effect.
Harry Kane’s new annual salary: €25 million
The Gunners’ £75 million signing of Newcastle captain Bruno Guimarães on Saturday has taken their summer spending to over £125 million. Some of the spending is covered through sales, with almost £40 million coming in for Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior and Christian Nørgaard.
In terms of more players, Arsenal have had to look for alternatives after Vinícius Júnior chose to extend with Real Madrid on a new six-year contract. The Independent’s Miguel Delaney reports that the Gunners have named Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez, Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and PSG’s Bradley Barcola as potential options.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side could be forced to speed up their search for a new striker if they accept a package offer from Turkish Galatasaray.
Arsenal duo ready for the exit door?
According to Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli, Galatasaray have made an offer for Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli.
Nwaneri, 19, spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille to get more playing time. The academy boy can play both in midfield and on the wings. He has started all three of Arsenal’s friendlies this summer – scoring in the 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.
Martinelli, on the other hand, has consistently been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer. He has played from the bench in two of Arsenal’s three friendlies, thanks to World Cup participation with Brazil.
Arsenal brought in left-winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge to compete with Martinelli and replace Trossard – who left for Turkish Beşiktaş.
Martinelli on his way away?
The hunt for Vinícius Júnior indicates that Arsenal are not entirely opposed to letting Martinelli, 25, leave the club if the right offer comes along.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma are interested in signing the Brazilian for between £34m and £38m – which could surpass Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35m move to Liverpool as the club’s record sale.
Martinelli is represented by Roc Nation – the same agency that represents Vinícius Júnior. Arsenal reportedly won’t sell Martinelli, according to football.london, unless they sign a new left-winger in the final weeks of the window.
This year’s transfer deadline is September 1 in England – giving clubs less than three weeks to finalise their squads before the 2026/27 season.
Arsenal can trim their midfield, collect €90 million and make room for a new super trio
