According to Fussballdaten, Kompany has asked for Jeltsch’s signature – after Bayern took home the Bundesliga title in the 2025/26 season. The club’s sports management sees the 20-year-old as a key piece in strengthening the defence ahead of the upcoming Champions League.
The young stopper has established himself as one of the league’s most exciting defenders since his breakthrough at Stuttgart. His club has priced him at €55 million, and Bayern’s management wants to strike before anyone else can hijack him.
Arsenal and Liverpool are lurking in the wings
However, Bayern are not alone in their interest. Both Arsenal and Liverpool have already started talks to take the lead in the bidding round. Premier League clubs want to strengthen their own defence – and can afford to match Stuttgart’s price tag.
