On Wednesday, Manchester City once again returned home with a loss in the Champions League. It’s almost unreal to see awkward City players go on one bang after another. An English newspaper reports that there could be hectic activity in the transfer market to try to correct the course.
Pep Guardiola has never brought in a handful of players to solve a short-term sporting crisis, simply because City have had so few of them under Guardiola. Where city rivals Manchester United have panic-signed players at every transfer window, City have been able to plan for the long term and sign selected players the club has followed over time.
According to the Telegraph, City management is now in United’s track. The English media claims that the City management has realized that new forces must be brought in, up to 8 new players could be brought in in January.
Rodri’s injury absence has been a heavy burden for the rest of the team, City will now strengthen in midfield and defence.
To us, it sounds like panic signing more than a handful of players could create new problems, as much as solve the existing ones in the previously fine-tuned City team machine.
