It’s no secret that Napoli manager Antonio Conte wants more Manchester United players. Moreover, the crisis is total at Old Trafford so overpaid stars can be picked up on the cheap.

Napoli, who have just sold Khvitsha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain for 75 million euros. There were rumours early last week before the sale of the Georgian superstar that Antonio Cone saw Alejandro Garnacho as a brilliant replacement.

Sportitalia writes that Napoli have already made an initial bid of €45 million. Italian Corriere dello Sport writes that Garnacho has now spoken to Antonio Conte on the phone – and that an agreement between Napoli and the player is close.

That leaves only an agreement with Manchester United, and sporting director Giovanni Manna will have a meeting with United management during the day to discuss Garnacho. And Napoli should be willing to pay 60 million euros, as the “Red Devils” demand, but hope to land a slightly cheaper deal with reduced playing time under Rúben Amorim

Garnacho has a total of 118 appearances for Manchester United.
