There are two clubs where Philip Zinckernagel has really come “home”: Bodø/Glimt and now Chicago Fire. Two very different leagues, clubs and surroundings, but on the grass the Dane has working conditions he loves. In Chicago, it is reported that one of the best strikers of all time is in talks with Zinckernagel’s club. Needless to say, this will further improve the working conditions of the Dane.

Zinckernagel has in a short time played his way into being one of the big profiles at the Chicago Fire – and MLS. A total of 21 goals and 21 assists in 52 games so far for the American club. There is also room for a Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski is a free agent after his contract expires at Barcelona, the Chicago Fire have earlier this year been linked with the 37-year-old, still young, goal guarantor.

At a press conference, the Chicago Fire coach confirms that the club is in talks with Lewandowski about signing.

“First and foremost, I don’t think there are no other offers. It seems very hard to believe. I’m sure a player at his level must have offers. When it comes to our communication, we have had a lot of contact – both with him and his representatives. I can speak freely because he is no longer a Barcelona player, or at least he will not be next week, and he is a player we would like to sign. We see it as a fantastic signing for the club, the city and the league,” coach Gregg Berhalter said according to Przeglad Sportowy One.
