Roberto de Zerbi had exactly what it took to get the Tottenham ship over water, the last Premier League games of last season. Survival in the top division and great optimism for the future. One, after another Premier League star was brought in on the summer transfer market. Then came the first games, and all optimism disappeared. Four games, two points and back on the relegation line the club balanced on for much of last season. Then it is good to have some positive news from the Spurs camp.
On Saturday comes Aston Villa, a game both must win. Spurs have two points out of a possible twelve, Villa have one. This is going to be a real mud wrestling of a game at the bottom of the Premier League, a place the two clubs cannot afford to be.
