“They really struggle with my last name, but Jens works well. There are few who have tried my last name. They don’t quite understand how to pronounce that island.” Jens Hjertø-Dahl told NRK, not long after he signed for Hull City in early August. After Saturday’s Premier League game, islands mean little. What is certain is that the former Tromsø player has chosen the right Premier League club.
Hull City fought their way up to the top division after winning against Middlesbrough in the play-off final. The last time the club was up in the world’s toughest league was in the 2016-17 season. On Sunday, Manchester United travelled to the MKM Stadium to show the youngster level in the Premier League in the first game of the season. Hjertø-Dahl was on the bench, and could celebrate victory against one of the world’s biggest clubs and three points into the table account. There was no playing time this time, but it is quite clear that Hull coach Jakirovic has not brought in the Norwegian 20-year-old as a football tourist.
Jens Hjertø.-Dahl has definitely come to the right Premier League club!
