German star players from the Bundesliga often get a hard time in their transition to the Premier League. The latest case is Florian Wirtz, who after almost a season and a half in a Liverpool shirt is only now starting to crack the codes in the world’s toughest league. Kai Havertz has had a tough spell at Chelsea (2020-23), then a bit of a slow start at Arsenal, but has still steadily come up with important goals. As a match-winner at Anfield on Sunday, the former Bayer Leverkusen player has now made history.
The very important goal against Liverpool, which sent Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table, was the German’s 46th goal in the Premier League. In fact, no German player has previously achieved this in Premier League history.
