Leeds could be willing to sell one of their key players in the summer window, after contract negotiations have come to a complete halt.

It could be a relatively exciting period for Leeds, after they secured their place in the Premier League by a wide margin last season.

Now Leeds have a golden opportunity to build on what Daniel Farke has created, but they will probably have to flex some muscle in the transfer market.

The Yorkshire club recently received a welcome boost when it was confirmed that Ethan Ampadu has signed a new contract at Elland Road.

Leeds are now hoping to keep the rest of their key players, but they certainly don’t want to be pressured against the villaya in contract negotiations.

According to Football Insider, Leeds will be open to selling defender Pascal Struijk in the summer window – if they can bring in new centre-backs.

Farke is very keen to strengthen the defence in the summer window, which could mean that Struijk will have to walk out the door.

Several clubs have been linked with Struijk in the summer window, but Leeds have so far been working to link him up with a new deal.

Unfortunately for Leeds, contract negotiations have stalled recently, and it looks like he wants to leave the club in the near future.

Leeds are now open to a sale, reportedly for a sum in the region of £400m – especially considering his contract expires next summer.

Leeds can rely on their own recutting skills

Leeds can afford to let a player like Struijk leave the club in the summer window, because they know that their recruitment efforts have been outstanding in recent years.

The Yorkshire club had an impressive summer of transfer last year, which helped them build a squad that managed to stay in the Premier League.

If they manage to replicate some of the reinforcements they brought in back in 2025, they should have no problem letting Struijk go.

If Leeds get their recruitment efforts right again, there is a real possibility that they can climb into the top half of the Premier League table – and start looking ahead instead of looking over their shoulder.
