It was a bad weekend for Arsenal fans. After the 2 – 1 loss to Manchester City, the chances of the Premier League slipping away once again have increased significantly. – The fans point to captain Martin Ødegaard who was finally back from injury and the fact that Manchester City have Erling Braut Haaland.

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain’s advisor, Luís Campos, has had talks with the representatives of an Arsenal star about a surprise transfer in the summer.

Hopes remain that the Gunners can finally win the Premier League for the first time since 2003/04, after finishing as a heartbreaking runner-up in each of the last three seasons. They have topped the table for most of the current season, but with Manchester City three points behind and one game less played, things are not so rosy anymore. Manchester City have a hanging match on Wednesday away at Turf Moor against Burnley, who after a horrendous few weeks are down to 19th place and in full swing preparing for a season down in the Championship.

But things are going to change at the Emirates this summer, and some of those who can help them cross the finish line could potentially disappear.

There is a lot of speculation about the future of winger Gabriel Martinelli, with French newspaper L’Equipe reporting that the Brazilian is on PSG’s wish list.

In fact, they claim that advisor Campos has contacted the Arsenal player’s representatives directly in the hope of securing his services in the summer.

PSG are also said to have had discussions with Yan Diomande, the RB Leipzig star who is on the radar of several Premier League clubs after a brilliant season in Germany.

Martinelli could leave Arsenal

Arsenal are willing to let Martinelli leave in the summer, and they are preparing to sell him to fund a clean-up of the squad. They will renew their attacking options, and thus the Brazilian could be on his way out.

Martinelli is no longer a guaranteed starter for Arsenal and if they receive a £50 million bid, sources state that he could well be sold.

With just four direct assists in the Premier League this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the winger is sold.

What may be more surprising, however, is that PSG see this and still believe he is good enough for their squad – especially as he is being touted as a potential replacement for Bradley Barcola.

The Frenchman has 10 goals and two assists in 22 league appearances this season, so Martinelli pales in comparison to him at the moment.
