The club has officially confirmed who will leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Manchester United have confirmed that SIX players will leave the club in connection with the annual list of retained players now being announced.

With the 2025/26 season behind us, clubs all over the world are already looking forward to the 2026/27 season, which starts shortly after the World Cup has ended.

The transfer window officially opens on Monday 15 June, but several clubs have already been in full swing securing big deals for next season.

United are reportedly among the top Premier League clubs that have already finalized a deal. The club have reportedly reached an agreement with Atalanta over the transfer of midfielder Ederson, for a starting fee of £34 million plus a further £3.8 million in potential bonus schemes.

But it’s not just incoming players that United have taken a stand on in recent weeks. The club has also confirmed which players will be released in the official list of retained players for the 2026/27 season.

Casemiro biggest name out

After four seasons at the club, with 160 appearances and 26 goals, Casemiro is perhaps the biggest name to disappear. The Brazilian already confirmed in January that he would not extend his contract.

Jadon Sancho is also leaving Manchester United, five years after he arrived as a sensational signing from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million. Since then, the Englishman has only made 83 appearances for the club – the last two and a half years he has been on loan at Dortmund, Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Malacia gone – three academy players out

After several seasons marked by injuries, United also confirmed that Tyrell Malacia is leaving the club. He has only made 50 appearances since his transfer in 2022, and last season the Dutchman only made three appearances at the very end of Premier League games.

In addition to the three first-team players, United have confirmed that youngsters Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey and Malachi Sharpe will all leave the club in the summer.

At the same time, the news comes that defensive talents Albert Mills and Dante Plunkett are expected to sign their first professional contracts with the club in July.

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Dermot me has also been offered a new contract, having “played an important role in first-team training in recent years, while also playing for Manchester United’s U21 team in competitive matches”.
