Unable to drive for the next six months

Paul Scholes has been given a six-month driving ban and a £1,472 fine – after being caught for two offences on the road.

The 51-year-old Manchester United legend was measured at 37mph in a 30 zone in March, in his Range Rover.

The matter was not helped by the fact that a Mercedes registered in his name was caught driving 49 mph in a 30 mph area as early as November 2025.

Both cases were heard in court last week, where Scholes finally received his sentence: six months without a driver’s license and a fine of close to £1500.

For a man who won it all on the football pitch, this is likely to be a far more expensive and frustrating period than any of the games he played at Old Trafford.
