Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s top scorer in the Premier League. It’s not exactly a great achievement, when four goals in 15 rounds earn him the top scorer. When United lost to Arsenal, Rashford came onto the pitch in the last half hour. Ruben Amorim needed a gamechanger, the former Premier League striker thought Rashford came in as a little kid.

“I was at the Arsenal game. When he came on, there was no point in bringing him on. It was embarrassing when he came on. Walking around, trying to make a massive dive, the ball kicked it off the field, and when all the players went up to the fans to clap after the game, he was left at the back. He was first one of, and I just thought, ‘you’re acting like a kid,'” a dejected Troy Deeney told talkSport.

The former Watford striker finds it downright painful to see the attitude towards Rashford.

-You act like a kid What is he, 27 now? Meant to be at the top of your career. It is clear that the economy has been taken care of now. Who are you as a person? What do you stand for? And my concern, real concern for Marcus is, when all this is said and done, that he’s going to regret not giving the maximum, because it’s hard to live with,” Deeney said.

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with Deeney, Marcus Rashford is very likely not part of Manchester United’s long-term plan. Here, changes can take place as early as January.
